Dear friends,
We hope you are doing well during these challenging times.
We are all slowly opening up our social circles; it is our pleasure as the Port Moody-Coquitlam Conservatives to invite you to the first fundraiser hosted by our MP Nelly Shin.
Nelly is proud to host the Honourable Candice Bergen (MP for Portage-Lisgar) and MP Lianne Rood (MP for Lambton—Kent—Middlesex) on Wednesday, July 22nd at 5:30pm.
Ms. Bergen was first elected in 2008. During the Harper administration, she was the former Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Public Safety, Minister of State for Social Development, and is now the House Leader in the House of Commons for Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition.
As someone Nelly has worked closely with, she knows first-hand how effective Candice is at carrying forward our Conservative message. She is someone who stands up for our values and we are grateful for her support.
Ms. Rood was elected in 2019 along with Nelly. She is an entrepreneur and farmer with a background in politics and small business. She grew up on a 1,000-acre vegetable farm in Grand Bend, Ontario and is equally comfortable in potato fields as she is in the boardroom. After receiving an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Sociology from the University of Windsor in 2003, she worked in Ottawa as a political staffer for the Stephen Harper Government for six years. Lianne serves as the Deputy Shadow Minister for Agriculture and Agri-food.
We hope you join us next Wednesday for what is sure to be an engaging conversation with these three exciting Members of Parliament!
In line with British Columbia's Phase 3 plan, we will limit this event to only a few guests with social distancing in place.
We will provide masks, hand sanitizer, individually wrapped appetizers and a variety of bottled non-alcoholic refreshments. Please feel free to bring your own alcoholic beverage.
Sincerely,
The Port Moody-Coquitlam Conservatives
