Dear friends, neighbours, and supporters:
It was a tight race but the strength of our Conservative team and your support helped take us to Monday's victory.
I'd like to thank the residents of Port Moody, Southwest Coquitlam, Anmore, and Belcarra, for voting in the 43rd federal election. It was a pleasure meeting so many of you and your families at the door, exchanging smiles, and hearing your stories and concerns about our community and nation. It was a privilege to hope with you at the door for a stronger Canada.
Today, I am filled with deep gratitude for your vote. Thank you for electing me as your Member of Parliament and for allowing me the privilege, now, to begin working through the issues you expressed on affordability, environment, business, infrastructure, and many other important issues that impact your prosperity and quality of life as individuals, families, and as a community. I will do so both on the ground in the Tri-Cities and in the House of Commons, thoughtfully, collaboratively, sensibly, and with optimism. I look forward to serving you devotedly with all my heart and ever-continuing commitment to integrity and seeking wisdom and understanding in all things. I look forward to our growing relationship on this journey together toward strengthening our community and incredible country.
Every successful campaign requires dedicated volunteers. I'd like to thank my incredible campaign team. Whether it was door knocking, putting up lawn signs, making phone calls, or fundraising, I am grateful for your hard work and commitment. I am grateful also for the generosity of donors who made it possible to run our campaign on all cylinders. I am moved by so many acts of benevolence.
Together, we came to the finish line of a marathon that tested our focus and strength of character and vision. We persevered. In the process we became family. You have deepened my faith in the triumph of hard work, goodness, patriotic fervour, and hope. Through sunshine, rain, steep hilly climbs, and descents, I've come to love you as my own fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, sons, and daughters. I am forever grateful for your unconditional support.
I'd like to congratulate my fellow candidates who ran a very good race. There are some things that only candidates can uniquely understand as we go through a campaign. I commend my fellow candidates across the country and in this riding, regardless of Party, for putting their names forward and daring to dream and champion the causes they are passionate about.
I am one piece of the puzzle in our collective efforts to bettering our community and country. But I will do my part and do my best to listen, serve and work together with leaders and the frontline heroes in our community to ensure the electoral district of Port Moody-Coquitlam shines with growing radiance in the days, months, and years to come. This is the legacy I gladly seek to foster as your Member of Parliament.
Thank you again for your support. Let's keep up the momentum as a strong Conservative family in the Tri-Cities and Lower Mainland.
With best regards and all my heart,
